9/11 Memorial

This is an extraordinary project where high expectations were actually met by the design.
Arad’s void concept works beautifully and gives the ground a significance that none of the new buildings were able to achieve.
In a place where the skyline was everything, a new more powerful dimension – the groundline – is now open for the public to see and touch.
With this project and the Highline, New York returns to the central stage of great landscape architecture. Welcome back.
